HILTI ANCHOR CHANNEL

Bottom of Slab Questionnaire

PROFIS Anchor Channel Software
Concrete strength: The compressive strength of the concrete. Typically the concrete strength is 4,000 psi or 5,000 psi.

Concrete: refers to whether the concrete is considered cracked or un-cracked. We will assume cracked concrete unless otherwise stated.

Slab thickness: The thickness of the concrete slab.

Straight edge reinforcement – anchor channel in cracked concrete with straight edge reinforcement with 12mm (1/2”) diameter (or larger) reinforcement. Straight edge reinforcement – anchor channel in cracked concrete with straight edge reinforcement with 12mm (1/2”) diameter (or larger) reinforcement.
Reinforcement with stirrups – anchor channel in cracked concrete with edge reinforcement and stirrups with a spacing a <= 100mm (4”) and a <= 2 * c1. Reinforcement with stirrups – anchor channel in cracked concrete with edge reinforcement and stirrups with a spacing a <= 100mm (4”) and a <= 2 * c1.
Type of loads: Anchor channels are designed using LRFD (Load and Resistance Factor Design) where factors are applied to the service loads and then compared to the factored material strengths. If services loads are given, factors of 1.2D (dead load) and 1.6L (live load) will be applied.

Vertical load: The load caused by gravity in the bottom of slab application

Horizontal load: The load caused by the wind load or suction load in the bottom of the slab application Load spacing: The distance between bolts that connect to the curtain wall bracket.

Bracket height: Height of the bracket above the bottom plane of the concrete slab. Enter a negative value if the load transfer point on the bracket is below the bottom plane of the slab.

Bracket overhang: The distance from the outer edge of the bracket to the edge of the slab.

Edge distance: The distance from the center of the anchor channel to the edge of the concrete slab.
